Bio: Robert “Bob” Reynolds is a partner and California practice leader at Moss Adams. He has over 25 years of experience in California income and franchise tax dispute resolution and tax planning. Prior to joining Moss Adams, he was a senior audit manager with the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB).
During his 12 years with the FTB, Reynolds specialized in performing and overseeing personal income tax examinations of high net worth individuals and pass-through entities involving residency determinations and complex sourcing issues. He also has extensive experience as a hearing officer overseeing individual and pass-through entity disputes as well as large multijurisdictional corporate tax protests. In public practice, Reynolds has served many of the largest technology, manufacturing, telecommunications, financial services, and retail companies in the world. He has also successfully represented individual and corporate clients before the State Board of Equalization.
Reynolds is a member of the AICPA and CalCPA, where he serves on the State Committee on Taxation, on the State Committee on Government Relations, as chair of the State Tax Committee, and on the CalCPA Board of Directors. He is also a member of the FTB Advisory Board. Reynolds earned his bachelor’s degree in accountancy at California State University, Sacramento.
