Bio: Michael Vinson recently retired from the Golden Gate University Bruce F. Braden School of Taxation. He had been a full time Professor and Director of its International Tax Certificate Program. His focus was international and partnership taxation. He continues to teach as a Visiting Professor at the UC Davis School of Law.
Michael received his JD from Hastings College of the Law and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law. Prior to teaching full-time, he worked in the tax departments of major US multinational corporation, focusing on corporate tax, international tax and tax controversy resolution. He was Tax Counsel at Apple Computer, Inc., Director of Tax at Altera Corporation, and ultimately Vice President of Tax at Hyperion Solutions before focusing on teaching.
